Questions & Answers

How long have you been in business?
It's hard for me to believe, but 2018 is my 21st year of being a full-time wedding photographer! I crossed the 1,000 wedding mark a couple of years ago! Yep, I've literally documented over 1000 weddings.

Who are the photographers at Jason Hudson Photography?
Myself, plus several very talented and hand-picked associates and second shooters, if you choose to have one. I will personally be at your wedding!

Do you have backup equipment?
Oh yes! I bring at least two cameras with me, as well as multiple lenses and flashes.

Your pictures are modern and non-traditional. Do you do those "look at the camera" pictures too?
Yes, definitely. I believe it's still important to document who was there within your family and bridal party. And even more important is picture time with the couple. Don't forget to schedule in DAYLIGHT time on your wedding day for pictures of just the two of you!

Do you do videography?
Nope! I don't know anything about videography. That is an entirely separate art form and skill set, and be treated as such.

Do you need a "shot list" like the wedding magazines say I do?
Family group lists are great to have and it makes that time go much quicker. For the rest of the day, I enjoy capturing real moments as they happen!

What is an engagement session?
Anytime before the wedding date, the couple is photographed at a location of your choice (I can help with locations if you'd like). Some couples use these pictures for Save the Date Cards, invitations, programs, or to decorate their house with. Engagement sessions typically last 60 minutes and I show around 40-50 final images.

What is a bridal session?
Once the dress is altered, we can schedule a bridal session, which is usually the bride by herself in her dress at the location of her choice. If the fiancé wants to join, that's great too, because that means even more pictures for the two of you! Bridal sessions last around 60 minutes and I typically show around 40-50 final images.

Can we show you our ideas from Pinterest?
Sure! But please know that it is illegal for me to exactly copy another photographer's work, and also know that you hired me for my own unique photography style, not someone else's! I promise your pictures will be much better and so much more "real" if you let me just capture the two of you doing your thing!

How long until we get to see and download our engagement and bridal proofs?
About a week! And you will have full access and print rights to them!

How long until we get to see our wedding proofs?
My goal is 1-2 weeks for the preview gallery and 3-4 weeks for digital delivery of all edited wedding day photos. This can be quicker in the off-season and longer during  busier months.

Do you edit the wedding day pictures?
Yes! Every image you receive will be individually edited for the best lighting and color possible. Individual retouch requests such as blemish removal, tattoo removal, face swaps, background object removal, braces removal, etc. will be outsourced for a fee, and quoted on a case by case basis.

Do we get digital copies of all of our engagement, bridal and wedding pictures?
Yes! Every package includes a print release and a link to your digital download of high-resolution photos edited "proofs", plus a separate folder of around 10-20 of my favorite pictures that are artistically retouched in a mixture of color and black & white. A permission form for personal use and printing is included, so that you can have prints or albums made anywhere you'd like. I can help you with suggestions on where to go for that. You, your family members and your wedding guests are welcome to order your own prints directly off of your online galleries, but you certainly aren't required to.

How many pictures do we get from the wedding day?
It really all depends on how many photographers you select to have, how long you have us there, how many events took place, etc. Usually though you can guesstimate that I will deliver about 100ish pictures per hour of shooting.
